It is my honour and a privilege to be asked to be the honoury president of the British Asian Media Awards taking place on February 27th at London’s Mayfair Dilly Hotel .

I have worked in the British Asian media industry for 28 years 25 of those years at the market leading uk’s number one Asian commercial radio station Sunrise Radio , this iconic service has lead the way for 35 years for the British Asian media fraternity a service that is noted internationally as the first independent Asian commercial radio station in the world .

We as a collective industry TV , Radio , press , online new media , have come a long way Over the past 4 decades but we still have many hurdles to cross to achieve real parity across the media landscape in the uk in the commercial sector, we have strong audience numbers between us , we also have a audience which fits all major brand target profiles with high disposable incomes and fast adopters of new trends let’s make our unique captive audiences count and build our media industry channels together .
